From 6 months, first foods are single ingredient purees, gentle and easy to digest.
Baby’s first organic pear puree
- Take 1 certified organic pear – in season and very ripe
- Peel, core and slice
- Place in a saucepan, adding enough water to cover the base of the saucepan to prevent sticking
- Cover and bring to the boil
- Reduce heat and simmer gently for 5 minutes
- Puree by pushing through a sieve or use a blender until smooth
- Cool to room temperature and serve

Baby’s Organic Potato and Baby Pea Puree
- Use about 500 grams of in season organic potatoes and about 150 grams of fresh or frozen peas
- Peel and wash vegetables
- Put potatoes and water into a pan and bring to the boil. Reduce the heat, cover and simmer for about 30 minutes
- Add the peas, cover and cook for a further 5 minutes or until the potatoes are soft.
- Remove from the heat and set aside to cool slightly.
- Puree the vegetables with baby’s usual milk or the cooking liquid until smooth
- Makes about 2 cups
- Refrigerate or freeze the puree in serving sized portions in heatproof airtight containers. Thaw completely, and then reheat by standing the container in a bowl of boiling water.
